A highly regarded London law firm with an excellent reputation in criminal law, human rights and public interest work is seeking an experienced Criminal Law Paralegal to join its specialist team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Criminal Law Paralegal with at least 2 years' experience looking to develop their career within a respected legal environment, gaining exposure to complex criminal matters and working alongside experienced fee earners. The successful Criminal Law Paralegal will provide support across a varied caseload, assisting with case preparation, client matters and court-related work. The role offers excellent exposure and the opportunity to gain Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) for those pursuing qualification through the SQE route. The Criminal Law Paralegal role: Supporting fee earners with criminal law and human rights matters Assisting with case preparation, legal research and document review Interviewing witnesses and preparing draft statements Processing and reviewing evidence Preparing, collating and organising court bundles and documentation Assisting with legal aid applications and funding matters Attending client meetings, conferences and court hearings where required Taking new client enquiries and assisting with case management Maintaining accurate records and ensuring deadlines are met Keeping up to date with legal and funding developmentsThe successful Criminal Law Paralegal: Minimum 2 years' paralegal experience within criminal law Strong understanding of criminal law and legal procedures Experience supporting complex or multi-handed cases would be advantageous LPC, BVC, SQE or relevant legal qualifications preferred Excellent legal research, drafting and organisational skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines Confident communicator with strong client care skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience with legal aid applications would be advantageousWhat's on offer: Salary of £25,000 - £30,000 Opportunity to gain valuable criminal law experience within a leading firm QWE opportunity for SQE candidates Potential progression opportunities, including future training contract consideration Supportive and collaborative working environment Exposure to complex and high-profile legal matters
