This is an excellent opportunity for a law graduate or early-career paralegal who is passionate about property development and wants to build a long-term career in this specialist area. We welcome candidates with ambition to qualify as a Solicitor/Legal Executive in the future (but this is not a requirement).
While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.
Whether you are taking your first step into practice or looking to build on existing experience, you will work alongside experienced lawyers on a broad range of development and house building matters.
Skills & Experience
- Law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification; or some practical legal experience, gained through a paralegal role, legal assistant position, placement year, vacation scheme, legal clinic, or similar environment – ideally within a property, real estate or development team.
- A genuine interest in property development, real estate and house building.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build solid working relationships with our clients and your colleagues.
- Commercial awareness and pragmatism.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting fee earners on a wide range of property development and house building transactions.
- Drafting legal correspondence, documents and completion statements.
- Preparing and submitting Land Registry and SDLT applications.
- Conducting legal research and assisting with due diligence exercises.
- Liaising confidently with clients, solicitors, lenders and other third parties by telephone and email.
- Managing document bundles and maintaining accurate electronic and paper files.
- Assisting with post-completion matters and ensuring transactions are progressed efficiently.
- Supporting with diary management, meeting coordination and general matter administration where required (including file openings, compliance and AML procedures).
- Assisting with billing processes, including preparing invoices and reviewing client and office account entries.

- Providing general support to the Development & House Building team as required.
