Location: Aberdeen/Glasgow preferably willing to relocate to Aberdeen

We are looking for an experienced Party Chief / Senior Surveyor who is looking to progress beyond offshore survey operations and develop towards a Project Management role, while retaining occasional involvement in offshore and nearshore projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will combine technical survey responsibilities with increasing involvement in project planning, client liaison, tendering, documentation and project coordination.

The aim is to provide a clear progression:

Party Chief / Senior Surveyor → Project Surveyor → Project Manager

The position offers a balance between office-based project responsibilities and occasional offshore trips, providing the opportunity to remain connected to field operations while developing broader project management experience.

  • Proven experience as a Party Chief / Senior Surveyor in offshore and/or nearshore survey operations.
  • Strong proficiency in the EIVA Suite – essential.
  • Good understanding of the full survey project lifecycle, from tendering and planning through mobilisation, acquisition, QC, reporting and final delivery.
  • Strong GIS capability with QGIS and /or Arcgis
  • Experience in survey reporting, technical documentation and client deliverables.
  • Practical experience with MBES, SSS, SBP and positioning systems, including exposure to USBL and LBL operations.
  • Beamworx experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of survey data workflows, QC and project documentation.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work with clients, project teams and offshore personnel.
  • A genuine ambition to develop into a Project Management position.
  • British Citizen or UK ILR holder, with unrestricted right to work in the UK.
  • Degree In Hydrography , CAT B or CAT A certified preferable
