Radiology is a thriving, innovative, integral service. As a patient flow co-ordinator, you will assist the clinical teams in the CT, MRI, US & Plain Film departments to improve the patient journey.

Our department is going through an exciting period of positive change, and we are committed to growing our workforce to meet the expanding demands of the service. Candidates should have significant experience in an administrative position and be able to demonstrate some service set-up involvement and proficiency.

The standard roster will be 37.5h per week and will require flexibility to work across both the Cannock CDC site and the New Cross Radiology department . Shifts may include earlies, lates and weekends.

Main duties of the job

To provide all administrative services involved in managing patient bookings for all specialty areas within Radiology.

To co-ordinate inpatient, outpatient, cancer and urgent bookings for patients across all services in Radiology. This will involve liaising with referrers, wards, portering services, interpreting services, transport services and Allied Health Professionals.

To manage incoming telephone communications and direct queries to the appropriate departments/staff. You will have an excellent telephone manner and you will be able to deal with calls from patients and referrers into the service in a friendly, prompt and professional way.

To use a variety of computer-based systems including Web Portal, Soliton, PACS, PAS, ePMA, ICE (limited access to view only status for bloods and lab results) and Teletracking. Training will be provided.

To perform a variety of other administrative duties required for co-ordinating patient flow through the department/service.

To collate data and provide statistical analysis of throughput, capacity & demand.

  • Previous experience in a Radiology or patient-facing administrative role.
