City of London An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a busy, high-performing payroll team within a leading global financial services organisation. This is a hands-on interim assignment, providing maternity cover and taking ownership of a key area of the UK payroll function. Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate end-to-end monthly payroll processing for approximately 2,000 UK employees. This is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues before they arise are essential. This role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, thrives under pressure and has the confidence to work independently while collaborating closely with HR, Finance and Benefits teams. Key Responsibilities Process end-to-end monthly UK payroll accurately and on time. Manage employee lifecycle payroll activities, including starters, leavers, transfers and family leave. Perform payroll reconciliations, including benefits, pension and finance reconciliations. Process payroll accounting entries and support general ledger reconciliations. Reconcile and validate payroll data between Workday and ADP, investigating discrepancies and providing commentary where required. Support payroll-related queries through shared inboxes, Workday case management and direct communication with employees and stakeholders. Assist with audits, process improvements and maintaining robust payroll controls. Work closely with HR, Finance, Benefits and Global Mobility teams to ensure accurate payroll delivery. About You Proven experience processing end-to-end UK payroll within a fast-paced environment. Strong working knowledge of ADP iHCM, Workday and Excel (all are essential) Previous financial services experience would be preferred but is not essential for candidates with strong ADP, Workday. Excel and payroll systems experience. Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, payroll accounting and reconciliations. Experience working with benefits and pension payroll processes. Logical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail. Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight monthly deadlines.
