Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised Perinatal Training Coordinator to join the Women & Children's Division at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of mandatory, statutory and specialist perinatal training across maternity, gynaecology and neonatal services. Working closely with the Practice Development Lead Midwife, clinical educators and multidisciplinary teams, the post holder will coordinate training programmes, monitor compliance, maintain accurate training records and support the effective management of the Education, Learning and Development budget. We are looking for a motivated individual who can work independently, use their initiative and effectively prioritise a varied workload while maintaining excellent communication and organisational skills.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work closely with the Practice Development Lead Midwife, Perinatal Education Lead and the wider multidisciplinary team to coordinate mandatory, statutory and specialist perinatal training across maternity, gynaecology and neonatal services. The post holder will be responsible for monitoring training compliance, maintaining accurate training records, coordinating training programmes, study days and simulation sessions, and producing compliance reports to support governance and national maternity standards. The role will also support the monitoring of the Education, Learning and Development (ELD) budget, assist with procurement of training resources, and provide administrative support to the Perinatal Education Team.

Applicants should have excellent organisational, communication and IT skills, with experience of managing data and coordinating multiple priorities. Experience of working in a healthcare or training environment, together with knowledge of systems such as ESR, e-Rostering or learning management systems, would be advantageous.

Job responsibilities

The Perinatal Training Coordinator is a key member of the Perinatal Education Team and plays an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality maternity, gynaecology and neonatal services through the effective coordination of mandatory, statutory and specialist perinatal training.

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating training programmes, monitoring and reporting training compliance, maintaining accurate training records and supporting the administration of education programmes across the Women's & Children's Division. Working closely with the Practice Development Lead Midwife, Perinatal Education Lead, clinical educators and multidisciplinary teams, the role will help ensure staff training remains compliant with national maternity standards and Trust requirements.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and maintain accurate records. Experience of using Microsoft Office packages is essential, and experience of working with systems such as ESR, e-Rostering or other learning management systems would be advantageous. Experience of working in an administrative, education or healthcare environment is desirable.

Qualifications, Education and Training

  • GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths
  • Educated to Diploma level 4 or equivalent relevant experience
