Responsibilities
- Lead on the management of catastrophic injury claims from instruction through to settlement.
- Provide expert, client‑focused advice with empathy for individuals and their families.
- Conduct litigation, instruct counsel and experts, and attend court hearings.
- Negotiate with defendant insurers, solicitors and other professionals to secure the best outcomes.
- Support and mentor team members to promote their professional development.
- Assist in growing the practice through networking, marketing and referrer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with SRA guidelines and relevant regulatory standards.
Must‑Have Qualifications
- Proven experience handling serious and catastrophic injury claims.
- Experience leading a team or function and developing others.
- A strong appreciation of the core legal process in serious/catastrophic injury claims.
- Solid understanding of The Rehabilitation Code and the Serious Injury Guide and their application to major trauma cases.
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to recognise sector developments and adapt to client needs.
- Excellent client care skills with the ability to manage complex and competing demands.
- Strong understanding of data security, confidentiality and risk.
