Responsibilities

• Lead on the management of catastrophic injury claims from instruction through to settlement.
• Provide expert, client‑focused advice with empathy for individuals and their families.
• Conduct litigation, instruct counsel and experts, and attend court hearings.
• Negotiate with defendant insurers, solicitors and other professionals to secure the best outcomes.
• Support and mentor team members to promote their professional development.
• Assist in growing the practice through networking, marketing and referrer relationships.
• Ensure compliance with SRA guidelines and relevant regulatory standards.

Must‑Have Qualifications

• Proven experience handling serious and catastrophic injury claims.
• Experience leading a team or function and developing others.
• A strong appreciation of the core legal process in serious/catastrophic injury claims.
• Solid understanding of The Rehabilitation Code and the Serious Injury Guide and their application to major trauma cases.
• Commercial awareness, with the ability to recognise sector developments and adapt to client needs.
• Excellent client care skills with the ability to manage complex and competing demands.
• Strong understanding of data security, confidentiality and risk.
