Pharmacist Advanced Endocrinology and Sustainability
Job summary
We are recruiting for an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist in Endocrinology and who has an interest in sustainability who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and forward-thinking clinical pharmacist to work with the diabetes and endocrinology consultants, specialist nurses and clinical pharmacy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and delivery of a high quality, proactive and patient focused service to gastroenterology patients.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with Lead Clinicians and nurses in a truly MDT setting.
The ideal candidate will use their non-medical prescribing qualification to optimise individual patient's drug therapies as appropriate.
You will also be supported to develop their leadership and management skills.

Main duties of the job
Provide a high-profile lead role in the provision and development of pharmaceutical services to the diabetes and endocrinology department
Lead on the pharmacy sustainability agenda and work closely with the Chief Pharmacist on the ICB sustainability plan .
Develop and maintain a role as a non-medical prescriber (NMP).
Play an integral role in the multidisciplinary team that delivers a high quality clinical service to endocrinology patients within the Trust. This will include regular attendance of consultant-led ward rounds, independently prescribing to optimise individual patients' medicines and leading a team of junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to deliver an effective pharmacy service.

Essential
- Relevant post registration experience in acute hospital pharmacy
- Experience of working in Endocrinology
- Supervision of staff
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in training and development of junior staff

- Experience in writing policies/guidelines/PGDs

- Analysis and management of drug expenditure

Qualifications/Training
Essential
- Masters Degree MPharm
- Registered with the GPhC as a pharmacist
- Evidence of CPD to maintain fitness to practice
- Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent (completed both year 1 and year 2)
Desirable
- Qualified and registered as a non-medical prescriber (or working towards completion of NMP qualification)
