We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary team at HMP Eastwood Park, located near Bristol

HMP Eastwood Park is a women's prison in Gloucestershire focused on rehabilitation, wellbeing, and helping individuals build positive futures. Health care is situated in the prison and provides a 24 hour healthcare and has a capacity of around 400 females.    The Pharmacy at HMP Eastwood Park is not a dispensary pharmacy, there are 7 dispensary hatches within medication / administration points. The pharmacy team of 14 consists of a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician and a Dispenser.  Site offers: 
  • Onsite parking 
  • Onsite Caf 
  • Access to gym 
Hours: 
  • Monday - Sunday 
  • Weekdays 7.15am - 7pm 
  • Weekends - 8.30 - 7.15pm 
  • Every other weekend 
  • 4 week rolling rota 

Salary

Youll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,658 per annum, depending on experience

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
