Plumbing & Heating Engineer

to join a thriving business in Westbury. Working across both domestic and commercial environments. Youll be responsible for delivering high-quality installation, maintenance and commissioning work while supporting apprentices and ensuring compliance across all tasks. Key Responsibilities Interpret technical drawings and building specifications to install pipework and drainage systems. Install supports for pipework, plant and equipment. Use saws, pipe cutters, jointing tools and other hand tools safely and effectively. Install heating and water plant in both commercial and domestic settings. Assess labour requirements and work closely with the contracts management team to maintain site progress. Prepare material lists and schedules to ensure correct stock is available on site. Record dayworks and variations and pass information to the relevant contracts manager promptly. Work collaboratively with contractors, electricians and construction teams on installations and repairs. Mentor and support apprentices within the plumbing apprenticeship programme. Carry out inspections, identify faults and complete repairs as required. Test and commission heating, hot- and cold-water systems, recording data in line with compliance standards. Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices. Complete all tasks assigned via company communication systems (tablet, telecoms, IT). Undertake any additional plumbing duties required by the Manager in line with business needs. Person Specification NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing. Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail. Friendly, approachable and customer-focused with a flexible attitude. Gas qualifications desirable but not essential. Proven track record of delivering results. Good understanding of safety policies, processes and procedures. Strong team player with solid interpersonal and written communication skills.
