Why You’ll Love It

If you're an HCPC Registered Podiatrist looking for a flexible private practice role in South West London, with the opportunity to develop your MSK Podiatry skills, we think this one is well worth a look.

What really stood out to us about this opportunity is that our client isn't simply looking for another Podiatrist to fill a diary. They're continuing to grow their Podiatry service and want someone who can become a genuine part of that journey.

You'll already have patient demand waiting for you, alongside regular internal referrals from an established team of Physiotherapists and Osteopaths, so you're not being handed an empty diary and expected to magically make it busy.

There's also plenty of scope to make the role your own.

You might love traditional Podiatry and want a varied private caseload, or perhaps you're keen to develop further into MSK Podiatry, biomechanics, gait analysis and orthotic therapy. Either way, you'll be working in an environment with the technology, multidisciplinary support and patient base to help you do it.

Our client's preference is to welcome someone into the team on a permanent employed basis who wants to grow with the practice long term. However, they're also refreshingly flexible and will consider a self-employed arrangement for the right clinician.

Initially, they're looking for around two days per week, but even those days aren't set in stone. They're happy to discuss mornings, afternoons, full days and different working patterns to find something that genuinely works for both sides.

For us, it's that combination of flexibility, existing patient demand and genuine scope to develop that makes this such an attractive private Podiatry opportunity.

All About You

You'll be an HCPC Registered Podiatrist who enjoys delivering excellent patient care and building lasting relationships with the people you treat.

You'll ideally have:

  • HCPC registration as a Podiatrist
  • Around two years' post-registration experience, although Podiatrists with more or less experience are still encouraged to apply
  • Confidence managing a routine Podiatry caseload independently
  • Experience treating verrucas and ingrown toenails
  • Experience performing nail surgery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and continued professional development
  • Experience or an interest in MSK Podiatry, biomechanics, gait analysis, orthotics or orthotic prescription would be a real advantage, but isn't essential.
  • Most importantly, our client is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and wants to become part of a supportive clinical team.

What Will You Be Doing?

You'll manage a varied private Podiatry caseload across our client's South West London clinics, treating a broad range of patients and conditions.

Your caseload may include:

  • Routine Podiatry and chiropody
  • Corn and callus management
  • Nail care and fungal nail treatment
  • Verruca treatment
  • Ingrown toenail management
  • Nail surgery where appropriately trained
  • Diabetic foot assessments and routine monitoring
  • Biomechanical assessments
  • Gait analysis
  • Orthotic assessment and prescription
  • MSK foot and ankle assessment
  • Foot and ankle rehabilitation

You'll also receive referrals from the wider multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists and Osteopaths, helping to create a varied caseload and providing plenty of opportunity for collaborative working.

As the Podiatry service continues to expand, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and help influence how the service develops.

Working Hours and Environment

The role will initially be approximately two days per week, with genuine flexibility around the working pattern.

Morning clinics, afternoon clinics and full days can all be considered, and there is scope to increase your sessions over time as patient demand continues to grow.

You'll work across our client's clinics in Wandsworth Town, Clapham Junction and Putney in South West London, all of which are easily accessible by public transport and within walking distance of major rail stations.

You'll become part of an established multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Sports Massage Therapists and Pilates professionals, with collaboration and knowledge sharing actively encouraged.

The clinics also offer access to excellent technology including focused and radial Shockwave Therapy, diagnostic ultrasound and VALD force plate technology, making this particularly attractive for a Podiatrist interested in developing their MSK, biomechanics and rehabilitation skills.

Reaching Your Potential

You'll be joining our client at a really exciting stage of their growth.

They've built a strong reputation for private healthcare across South West London, with established clinics in Wandsworth Town, Clapham Junction and Putney and a large multidisciplinary team working across Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Sports Massage, Pilates and Podiatry.

Podiatry is an area they're continuing to invest in and develop, which means this isn't simply about stepping into an existing role. As the service grows, there is genuine opportunity for you to increase your sessions, take on greater responsibility and have a real say in how the Podiatry offering develops.

If you're keen to grow your MSK Podiatry skills, you'll also be surrounded by clinicians you can learn from and have access to technology including diagnostic ultrasound, Shockwave Therapy and VALD force plates, giving you plenty of exposure to biomechanics, rehabilitation and more complex MSK presentations.

Equally, there's no expectation that every Podiatrist needs to follow the same path. If your strengths and interests sit within traditional Podiatry, you'll be equally valued for the expertise you bring.

Ultimately, our client wants to find someone who can become a long-term part of the team and give them the support, flexibility and opportunities to build a career that grows alongside the practice.
