Job summary

We are looking for hard working, reliable and flexible individuals to work as a member of the Facilities Team.

You will carry out a wide range of Portering duties which is a 24hr/365 days a year service.

This role is patient facing.

The work is varied and interesting, it requires initiative, awareness and good customer service skills. You must also have the ability to work as part of a team plus a flexible approach to working hours, which will include nights, weekends and Bank Holidays which are all essential in order to meet the needs of the department.

Enhancements are paid for lates, weekends, nights and bank holidays.

The position is on a shift basis covering earlies, lates, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a set 13 week roster.

Main duties of the job

This includes sorting/delivery and collection of mail in the post room; dealing with the transfer of patients; movement of equipment and furniture, as well as linen, medical records and drugs.

Full training will be given.

A full UK manual driving licence is essential to this role which needs to include driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonne.
