Practice Manager
Job summary
Lower Stondon Surgery are seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly organised Practice Manager to join our friendly and forward-thinking dispensing GP surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in ensuring our practice delivers safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led services while maintaining full compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.

Main duties of the job
As our Practice Manager, you will lead on quality assurance, governance, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the practice.

You will work closely with Partners Dr Akhtar and Dr Brindle to bring the practice into its next phase. Using secured premises funding we are looking forward to practice expansion to support the growing list size and dispensary. We have salaried GPs, Practice Nurse, ANP, Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedic as well as our Dispensing Team.

Job responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the practice's CQC compliance programme and maintaining inspection readiness.
- Developing and embedding robust governance and quality assurance systems.
- Managing risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Leading investigations into incidents, significant events, and safeguarding concerns.
- Maintaining the practice risk register and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Managing Dispensing Arm of practice
- Supporting HR processes and leading on recruitment
- Supporting clinical team with achieving QOF targets
- Claims for CQRS, ECF and allied
- PCSE claims for reimbursement
- Liaison with PCN team and supporting PCN recruited ARRS staff
- Coordinating audits and ensuring improvements are implemented.
- Reviewing and updating practice policies and procedures.
- Monitoring mandatory staff training regulatory compliance.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, patient safety, and learning throughout the practice.

Experience
Essential
- We are looking for someone who has the following.
- Experience working within a GP practice or Primary Care setting.
- Previous experience managing CQC compliance and inspections.
- Excellent knowledge of the CQC Fundamental Standards and NHS Primary Care regulations.
- Experience in governance, quality improvement, and risk management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience leading audits, investigations, and policy development.
- The ability to work independently while building positive relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office and GP clinical systems.
