Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for one or two experienced Part Time Practice Nurses to work with us at our friendly two-site Surgery. This will be to cover maternity leave.

We are looking for candidates full of enthusiasm and ready for the challenge to join our nursing team. We are a Surgery dedicated to patient-centred care and making a positive difference in our community.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for experienced Practice Nurses who are friendly and enthusiastic to provide a high quality of care to our patients. We value professionalism, commitment, compassion, flexibility and passion within your chosen vocation.

The successful candidates will also be confident, have excellent organisational skills, be able to self-manage and be IT proficient.

We are a friendly and committed GP practice comprising of 7 GP partners, salaried GP's, allied healthcare professionals and an excellent nursing team of Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and a supportive and experienced administration team. We are always delighted to welcome a new member to the team.

Job responsibilities

Job Description

To provide a range of high quality general nursing services and care to our patients.

Main duties and responsibilities include

  • Working autonomously
  • Leg ulcer dressings
  • General dressings
  • Child and adult immunisation
  • Cervical cytology
  • Travel advice and vaccinations
  • Health promotion
  • Performing ECGs
  • Venepuncture and requesting pathology testing
  • Infection control
  • Chaperoning
  • Keeping clinical rooms tidy and stocked
  • Ordering of supplies as necessary
  • Attend and participate in clinical and practice meetings when required
  • Proactive in identifying own needs for personal and professional development
  • Aware of the responsibility of all employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients staff and visitors
  • Ensure all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with any current quality initiatives
  • Provide patient care in accordance with current PGDs and clinical protocols
  • Any other duties as required

  • Experience of working as part of a team within General Practice
