West Pottergate Medical Practice has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team. This is a permanent, part-time role.

Main duties of the job

We are a friendly and welcoming GP Practice located in central Norwich. We seek a Practice Nurse to join our team and be part of a practice that makes a difference, supported by and working with a diverse, multi-skilled professional team of clinical and non-clinical staff, providing high-quality, person-centred, holistic nursing care to patients

The practice is situated in the centre of Norwich and continues to expand and develop while nurturing a staff team with long-standing service. We provide a supportive working environment and warmly welcome patients from all social groups and backgrounds. Current list size: 6000. The practice achieved CQC Good status; we strive to continuously maintain and improve these standards. We are actively involved in clinical research and teaching. We support personal development and training for all staff.

Job responsibilities

The Practice Nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as helping with infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, health promotion, well women and well man clinics, as well as actively supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure. The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Obtain blood samples
  • Electrocardiograms(ECGs)
  • Minor and complex wound management including leg ulcers
  • Travel health advice and vaccinations
  • Child immunisations and advice
  • Family planning & women's health including cervical smears
  • Men's health screening
  • Sexual health services
  • Screening and helping patients to manage long-term conditions
  • Cervical screening

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • NMC registration is essential.
  • Primary Care experience.
