An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paramedic to join our friendly, long established, well managed practice, working 4 sessions per week on a Thursday and Friday.

Main duties of the job

As a Paramedic, the successful candidate will deal with a wide variety of health needs in a primary care setting, they will work individually and as part of a team to ensure a high standard of care for all registered patients is met, as they carry out the associated clinical and administrative duties.

The successful candidate must be a prescriber.

About us

We are a traditional practice with individual lists and emphasis on family medicine and holistic care.

We currently have 8 Doctors - mix of partners, salaried GPs. We are also a training practice and have 2 trainee GPs currently with us.

We have 4 Nurse Practitioners and 2 HCAs providing top class chronic disease management, elderly home visiting, insulin initiations, spirometry, clinicial co-ordination and more.

We have an expanding, mixed patient demographic of 9,450 patients with predominant areas of deprivation.

We hold daily GP meetings and monthly clinical meetings.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Paramedic Science.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • 3 years Post registration experience

Experience

Essential

  • -Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • -Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • -Willingness to work in a primary care setting and adapt to the needs of the surgery.
  • -Full clean driving license

Desirable

  • Experience using EMIS
