Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced Primary Learning Mentor to work in a primary school in the Stechford area of Birmingham.
This is a full-time position starting September 2026, supporting pupils across school who require additional help with their behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement with learning.
The successful candidate will work with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping to remove barriers to learning, build confidence and encourage positive behaviour and relationships within school.
The Role
Primary Learning Mentor
Stechford, Birmingham
Full time, Monday to Friday
Start date: September 2026
Long-term position
1:1 and small-group interventions
Supporting behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
Working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working specifically as a Learning Mentor is essential for this role.
You should also have:
Recent experience working with children in a school setting
Strong behaviour management skills
Experience supporting pupils with social, emotional or behavioural needs
A confident, patient and positive approach
The ability to build strong relationships with pupils
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
The ability to provide suitable references covering the required period
