Job Title: Principal Electrical Design Engineer Location: London (Hybrid) Sector: Building Services / MEP Engineering Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + Generous Executive Package The Role: Skilled Careers has been retained by an internationally recognized, top-tier engineering consultancy to find an exceptional Principal Electrical Design Engineer. As they continue to expand their London presence, they need an authoritative technical leader to head up a dedicated electrical team. This role is highly strategic, focusing on the delivery of landmark commercial headquarters, premium mixed-use estates, and smart-building integrations across the capital. What You Will Be Doing: Act as the technical authority and project lead for large-scale, multi-million-pound electrical building services projects. Drive innovation by integrating smart building technologies and low-carbon electrical solutions into complex urban developments. Oversee project financial performance, resource planning, and fee generation to ensure successful and profitable project delivery. Cultivate and manage relationships with key developers, architects, and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and securing repeat business. Provide strategic leadership, QA/QC oversight, and rigorous technical mentorship to a growing team of engineers. About You: BEng or MEng in Electrical or Building Services Engineering. Fully Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the IET or CIBSE. Extensive experience within the UK M&E sector, demonstrating a proven track record of leading high-value commercial and mixed-use projects. Strong commercial awareness, with experience in bidding, fee proposals, and client management. Exceptional knowledge of modern electrical infrastructure, BREEAM, WELL standards, and smart building trends.
