Our client is a global engineering and design consultancy delivering infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. They are looking to appoint a Principal Highways Engineer to join their established highways team, supporting the design and delivery of major transport and infrastructure schemes. This is a role where the selected canddiate will be working at a technical director level.

This position would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys the technical side of highway design and wants to play a leading role in solving complex engineering challenges, without moving into a predominantly management-focused position.

Salary (£80,000 - 90,000) - DOE

The Role
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide technical expertise throughout the design process, supporting projects from concept through to construction. You will act as a technical lead on schemes, reviewing designs, providing engineering guidance and ensuring work is delivered in line with industry standards.
Responsibilities
Producing and reviewing complex highway designs.
Reviewing drawings, calculations and technical reports prepared by other engineers.
Providing technical guidance and support to engineering teams.
Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and client requirements.
Working closely with project managers, clients and multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery
Attending technical meetings with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders where required.
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers within the team.
Technical Experience
Applicants should have strong highway design experience and be familiar with some of the following software:
OpenRoads Designer
AutoCAD
Civil 3D
PDS
12d Model
Knowledge & Experience
A good understanding of current highway design standards is essential. You'll be comfortable acting as the technical point of contact on projects, solving complex engineering problems, reviewing the work of others and providing practical engineering solutions. xwzovoh
