A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a growing and innovative manufacturing business based in Lymington, offering a salary of up to £55,000. This position will be responsible for leading the procurement function, managing a team of buyers and ensuring the effective delivery of operational and strategic procurement activities. The ideal candidate will have previous buying or procurement experience within a technical manufacturing background. Role responsibilities of the Procurement Manager include: Lead and develop the Procurement team, setting clear KPIs, coaching performance and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. Own end-to-end procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring continuity of supply, production requirements and effective orderbook and inventory management. Drive commercial value and cost efficiency through strategic sourcing, tendering, negotiation, supplier agreements and continuous improvement initiatives. Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, improving quality, cost and OTIF performance while identifying and mitigating supply chain risks. Partner cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Quality, R&D, Sales and other stakeholders to resolve supply issues and support business growth and product development. Ensure procurement excellence and compliance, maintaining robust processes, accurate ERP data and forecasts, monitoring KPIs, and adhering to ISO9001, ethical sourcing and relevant legislation.Person Specification of the Procurement Manager: Proven leadership experience, with at least 2 years' experience leading, developing and motivating procurement or purchasing teams. Strong procurement and commercial expertise, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, negotiation, contract management and a sound understanding of manufacturing supply chains. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make commercially sound decisions, manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate effectively across teams and with suppliers.
