Production Engineer Overview We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to support manufacturing operations by programming, setting and proving new products on a range of CNC machining centres and mill-turn machines. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement across production processes, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency and manufacturability. Hours: 39 hours per week Salary: Up to £55k DOE Day Shift: Monday to Thursday: 7:30am to 4:30pm, Friday: 8:00am to 1:00pm Key Responsibilities * Create CNC programs using online and offline CAM software from customer drawings and CAD models. * Program, set and prove 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centres and mill-turn machines. * Produce manufacturing process plans, routings and ERP data. * Generate manufacturing documentation including tooling, fixtures, gauges and set-up sheets. * Improve machining methods and CNC programs to increase quality and efficiency. * Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions. * Provide technical support to Quality and Inspection teams. * Support engineering workload planning with the Engineering Manager. * Produce 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models. * Review customer drawings, specifications and technical documentation. * Ensure material treatments and coatings are correctly applied and documented. * Support continuous improvement and process development. * Train and mentor colleagues where appropriate. Essential Skills & Experience * Right to live and work in the UK. * Minimum five years' manufacturing engineering experience. * CNC programming and CAD/CAM experience. * Experience machining a range of materials to tight tolerances. * Strong understanding of GD&T. * Experience with 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centres and mill-turn machines. * Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes and material treatments. Desirable * Mastercam experience. * ERP/MRP systems experience. * Knowledge of ISO and ASME Y14.5 drawing standards. * Experience with Mazak, Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
