This is a great opportunity to join the engineering team of an established manufacturing business in Ebbw Vale. This role will see you involved in production plan achievement as well as driving quality standards and continuous improvement activities. This role will enable you to develop your own career through training courses and support from the Production Manager, as well as a four day week.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering the production plan and schedule to achieve OTIFNE targets while ensuring jobs are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee quality, health and safety, and housekeeping standards across the production environment to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Manage day-to-day operations by responding to changing priorities, issuing work and materials, conducting shift reporting, and ensuring effective shift handovers.
  • Support operational performance through proactive communication, continuous improvement initiatives, KPI enhancement activities, and scrap reduction programmes.
  • Lead, train, appraise, and supervise production and departmental staff during shifts, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Shift Manager with the ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong production and quality focus, combined with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and driving continuous quality improvements.
  • Possesses knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and Six Sigma Familiarity with Visual Performance Management and Leader Standard Work would be advantageous.
  • Excellent people management, communication, and organisational skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments and ensuring services are delivered right first time.
