An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Communities Directorate in Bridgend as a Project Coordinator Job Overview at a Glance Job Title: Resilient Communities Co-ordinator Location: CF31 4WB Pay Rate: £20.48 - £21.52 per hour (based on experience) Contract Duration: Temporary until 31/12/2026 (potential for extension) Start Date: ASAP Working Hours: 34 hours per week Shift Pattern: Monday

  • Friday (Flexible 06:30 - 14:30 or 09:00 - 17:00) Job Purpose: To develop and deliver community-focused projects under the UKSPF-funded Local Resilience Planning and Community Fund programme of work, ensuring full compliance with UKSPF methodology and guidelines.
  • Funding & Grant Coordination: Coordinate Resilient Communities funding streams, oversee enquiry/application processes, and provide guidance to successful applicants to ensure financial compliance.
  • Community & Civil Society Investment: Support cultural/heritage institutions, impactful volunteering, capacity building for local civil society, cost-of-living/energy efficiency measures, and digital infrastructure for community facilities.
  • Contract & Procurement Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of exploratory and research projects, prepare specifications, deliver procurement exercises, and monitor contractors against agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Match Funding & Funding Streams: Source and maintain match funding by collaborating with public, private, and voluntary partners to maximize grant opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Networks: Provide guidance to key partners, maintain stakeholder relationships, and support thematic networks aligned with programme objectives.
  • Fund Management Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience with funds management.
  • Grant & Budget Expertise: Proven experience in budget management, contract management, public procurement, and managing grant funds for voluntary sector applicants.
  • Community Development Knowledge: Strong understanding of community economic development, co-design, participatory approaches, Local Resilience Planning, and Community Funds.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to varied audiences.
