Graduate LGR Project Officer (Locality) | Fixed Term 2 years | Full Time - 37 Hours per Week | Host Council (Breckland District Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council or Norwich City Council) | Salary: £26,000 - £34,000 per annum Norfolk's councils are working together to deliver one of the most significant public sector transformation programmes in the county's history through Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). As part of this exciting journey, we are recruiting a cohort of graduate officers who will play a key role in helping to shape the future of local government across Norfolk. Working within one of the three future unitary authority areas, you will support the planning and implementation of change while gaining invaluable experience of large-scale organisational transformation. This is a unique opportunity to launch your career in local government, contributing to a programme that will influence how public services are delivered for years to come. About the Roles Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) represents the biggest change to local government in Norfolk for more than 50 years. While the scale of the challenge should not be underestimated, it is also a once in a generation opportunity to design something better, to create organisations that are sustainable, resilient and equipped to meet the needs of our communities long into the future. As a Graduate LGR Project Officer, you will work alongside senior leaders and programme teams to support the delivery of locality-based transformation activity. You will help coordinate projects, support stakeholder engagement, undertake research and analysis, and contribute to the development of the future unitary council for your area. You will act as an important link between your locality team and the central Programme Management Office, helping to share information, track progress and support a consistent approach across Norfolk. You could be supporting workshops with senior stakeholders, preparing reports for decision-makers, coordinating programme activity or helping to develop solutions to complex organisational challenges. What We Are Looking For We're looking for enthusiastic, motivated graduates who are interested in public service, organisational change and making a positive difference to local communities. Excellent organisational and planning abilities. Confidence working with Microsoft 365 applications. A willingness to travel across Norfolk as required. Whether your degree is in business, politics, public policy, geography, social sciences, management or another discipline, we are interested in your potential, enthusiasm and commitment to learning. This is not a typical graduate role. You'll work across multiple authorities, gain exposure to senior leaders, and develop experience in programme delivery, partnership working, organisational design and public sector transformation. You will be part of the Norfolk Graduate Cohort and benefit from: Dedicated line management support. Access to the Norfolk Graduate Network. Shared learning and development opportunities. Professional and career development opportunities. Working Arrangements These roles are hybrid, with a base at one of the host councils. This is a rare opportunity to be at the heart of a major transformation programme while building the skills, experience and professional network that will help shape your future career. You will gain hands-on experience of project delivery, strategic change and local government, whilst helping to create the future model of local public services in Norfolk
