* Park Recruit is partnering with a leading European data centre delivery specialist to appoint an experienced Project Lead for a major project in Blyth, UK.
This is a senior-level opportunity to take a key leadership role on a large-scale data centre development, joining an established project team within one of the fastest-growing areas of the construction and engineering sector.
Reporting directly to the Project Director, the Project Lead will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, managing programme, cost, commercial performance, subcontractors and key stakeholders through to final handover.
The Role As Project Lead, you will provide overall leadership across the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include: Take overall responsibility for project cost, programme and budget from delivery through to completion.
Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants and the wider project team.
Monitor critical milestones and proactively manage potential programme delays.
Review construction proposals, scopes of work and pricing.
Lead client meetings and key project coordination meetings.
Monitor project costs and provide clear reporting and recommendations to senior management.
Manage procurement requirements and long-lead equipment schedules.
Review and validate subcontractor cost estimates and commercial submissions.
Work closely with engineering and design teams to assess the commercial impact of design changes.
Track equipment availability against the overall construction programme.
Coordinate scheduling and project controls activities.
Review and approve invoices, payment applications and retention payments.
Manage project close-out and client handover, including documentation, warranties and final deliverables.
Candidate Requirements: We are keen to speak with experienced construction professionals who can demonstrate: A minimum of 10 years' experience within major construction or engineering project delivery.
Previous experience operating at Project Lead, Senior Project Manager or similar level.
Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Excellent commercial awareness, particularly around budgets, cost control and project financial management.
Strong understanding of construction programmes, procurement and project controls.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage demanding programmes while maintaining high standards across safety, quality and delivery.
Strong IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and relevant project management systems.
