Project Lead (food manufacturing)

£45,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on skills and abilities)

Permanent role in Wrexham

8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday

Role

Are you passionate about project management and continuous improvement? Do you have a background in the manufacturing industry? If so, we want to hear from you!! We are supporting a reputable food manufacturer to recruit a Project Lead who will manage multiple projects within an FMCG manufacturing environment as well as drive a collaborative approach to problem solving & performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of key projects from start to finish ensuring completion against KPI's.
  • Lead and deliver Continuous Improvement to reduce unplanned losses.
  • Apply problem solving tools and coach others in these – such as 5Y, Fishbone, DMAIC, Six Sigma etc.
  • Lead and deliver workshops as well as coach others in continuous improvement processes.
  • Attend senior leadership meetings.
  • Produce, report and analyse data.

Candidate requirements

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Excel skills and a high level of IT proficiency.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to demonstrate effective planning, tracking, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of structured problem‑solving methodologies and continuous improvement tools, including 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa), DMAIC, and Six Sigma.
  • Passion for developing people and building organisational capability.
  • Highly motivated, with a strong work ethic and commitment to achieving results.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to influence and engage others.

Desirable but not essential

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification (desirable).
  • Previous Operations Leadership experience, including people coaching, team development, and change management (desirable).
  • Engineering or technical knowledge and understanding (desirable).
