Job Type: Permanent Start Date: Immediate Industry: Data Centres / Civils / Construction Location: Chertsey, Surrey Salary & Package: £85,000 plus package    The Role & About the Client    ITS Building People are working with a well-established specialist construction and engineering contractor operating across the Data Centre, Defence and Energy sectors. Due to continued growth and a significant pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager – Civils to join their team and work on a major 16.8MW Data Centre project. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background to join a specialist contractor working on technically complex and high-value projects.    Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Lead and manage project teams throughout the construction process. Take responsibility for programme, progress and delivery against key milestones. Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site resources. Oversee civil engineering and infrastructure packages. Manage groundworks, substructures, drainage, utilities and external works. Coordinate roads, footpaths, fencing, gates and associated infrastructure. Manage project logistics and construction activities within a live and controlled environment. Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial performance. Identify and manage project risks, opportunities and changes. Work closely with the commercial team to maintain financial control. Coordinate design information and resolve technical issues. Manage interfaces between civil, structural, architectural and MEP disciplines. Liaise with the client, consultants and specialist contractors. Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements. Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental performance. Carry out quality inspections and ensure defects and non-conformances are addressed. Assist with testing, completion, commissioning and handover.    The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Proven experience managing construction projects. Strong civil engineering and infrastructure experience. Experience with groundworks, drainage, utilities and substructures. Experience managing subcontractors and supply chains. Good commercial awareness and understanding of project cost control. Strong programme and project management skills. Experience managing change, risk and technical issues. Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams. Strong client and stakeholder management skills. Experience working within a Principal Contractor environment. Good understanding of CDM and construction health & safety requirements. Experience with NEC and/or JCT forms of contract. Strong understanding of temporary works and construction logistics. Experience within Data Centres, Mission Critical, Defence, Energy, Industrial, Infrastructure or Major Civil Engineering would be highly advantageous. Previous experience delivering below-ground services, drainage, utilities, roads and external works on large or technically complex projects would be particularly relevant. HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline. SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, Temporary Works Coordinator experience/qualification and CIOB, ICE, RICS or APM membership would be advantageous.
