Job Description
Project Planner
Role Summary
A leading energy infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the delivery of a major substation project in the UK. The successful candidate will take responsibility for developing, maintaining and reporting against the project programme, working closely with project management, engineering, construction and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Monitor progress against baseline programmes and identify delays, risks, critical path activities and opportunities for recovery.
- Produce weekly and monthly programme updates, reports and short-term look-ahead schedules.
- Coordinate programme interfaces across civil, electrical, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with site and project teams to ensure programme information accurately reflects project progress.
- Support programme risk, change control, delay analysis and commercial reporting.
- Provide planning input into project meetings and communicate programme performance to key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Planner, Planning Engineer or similar on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong Primavera P6 experience.
- Previous experience within Transmission & Distribution, substations, HV electrical infrastructure or power projects.
- Good understanding of construction sequencing, critical path analysis and programme management.
- Experience producing progress reports, look-ahead programmes and schedule updates.
- Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- NEC3/NEC4 experience and knowledge of project controls would be advantageous.
Desirable Experience
- Experience on 132kV, 275kV or 400kV substation projects.
- Experience across civil and electrical packages.
- Previous experience within National Grid or similar T&D environments.
- Experience supporting delay analysis, EOTs, claims, change management or EVM.
