Granite Recruitment is hiring Principal Protection & Control Engineer to support a leading energy consultancy on major power transmission, distribution and energy transition projects across the UK.
This is a contract opportunity suited to a technically strong engineer who can quickly integrate into an established project team and provide immediate support across live and upcoming schemes including HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, overhead lines, connection projects, refurbishments and new-build developments. The main function of the role is to deliver high-quality protection and control engineering solutions for electrical networks up to 400kV, supporting projects from early-stage concept and FEED through to detailed design, construction support and energisation.
The successful contractor will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, suppliers and technical specialists to develop robust designs, review third-party deliverables, support commissioning activities and contribute to safe, efficient and compliant project delivery against agreed programme milestones. This assignment will suit someone comfortable operating with autonomy, providing senior technical input, resolving design issues, supporting delivery teams and helping maintain quality, consistency and momentum across fast-moving energy infrastructure projects.
