PSV / HGV Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical) – Location: Bangor – Contract: Full‑time, Permanent

We are looking for a talented Technician with PSV or HGV experience to join our Bangor engineering team. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and supports the safety, performance and reliability of our fleet.
What you will be doing
You will carry out repairs, diagnostics and system maintenance across a variety of vehicles. Your work will help ensure our buses operate safely and efficiently every day.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults on PSV, HGV and Light Goods Vehicles.
- Carry out routine electrical inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Install, repair and replace electrical components such as wiring looms, alternators, starter motors, batteries, lighting systems, climate control units and infotainment systems.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
- Ensure all repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
- Complete accurate and timely reports on work carried out.
- Work alongside mechanics, technicians and engineers within a collaborative depot environment.
- Keep up to date with new and emerging vehicle electrical technologies, including hybrid and electric systems.
- Participate in overtime and on‑call rotas when required.
Essential qualifications
- A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in Vehicle Electrical / Mechanical or Electronic Systems (or equivalent).
- Hands‑on electrical experience with PSV, HGV or Light Vehicle fleets.
- Strong diagnostic capability and confidence working with wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Full UK driving licence. Cat D (PCV) is desirable, or willingness to obtain through in‑house training.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and compliance in vehicle environments.

- Experience with hybrid or electric vehicle systems.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and teamwork ability.
