Are you a Psychology Graduate looking to first-hand experience of working with SEN pupils within a school based environment? If so, we’re looking for an ambitious qualified Psychology Graduate to work as a SEN Specialist Support Assistant in an amazing school environment. The suitable candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their counselling skills through cofacilitating weekly student counselling groups with an experienced counsellor. • Work 1-1 therapeutically with identified students in areas such as self-esteem, body image, healthy relationships. • Co-facilitate staff training in mental health issues such as self-harm, body dysphoria and anxiety. • Gain experience in writing CAMHS referrals, risk assessments and Boxall profiles. Within the role you will work closely with students who have experienced trauma, attachment disorder or neglect. Learn strategies to encourage with school refusers with ASD, anxiety back into school. • Gain a deeper understanding of challenging and complex conditions such as self harm, gender Identity, eating disorders, ADHD anxiety and depression. This position will provide invaluable experience for those wishing to progress in a career in Psychology, Psychotherapy and counselling. You must: • Meet the person specification • Be able to meet key accountabilities set out in Job Description • Have experience and/or a keen interest in the subject matter • Be able to use ICT effectively • Have good organisational skills • Have good communication skills • Good levels of literacy and numeracy
