Public Procurement Solicitor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a public procurement Solicitor to join a growing commercial team advising on a broad range of non‑contentious procurement matters, based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen. This role offers the chance to work closely with experienced colleagues, develop specialist expertise and gain exposure to a varied client base across both the public and private sectors.

The Role

You will advise clients on a range of procurement matters, supporting them throughout the procurement process and providing practical, commercially focused legal advice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on procurement strategy, contract awards, contract variations and regulatory compliance
  • Drafting and reviewing procurement documentation and related contractual agreements
  • Supporting clients through procurement exercises and helping to identify and resolve legal and commercial issues
  • Advising clients throughout tender processes and assisting with procurement‑related queries
  • Working alongside colleagues on a variety of commercial projects where procurement expertise is required
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives where appropriate

About You

You will be a qualified Solicitor with approximately 1-5 years' PQE and experience of, or a genuine interest in, procurement law.

You should also have:

  • Strong drafting, analytical and legal research skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities
  • A commercial, pragmatic approach to delivering advice
  • The ability to manage your own workload while working collaboratively as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to develop your technical expertise
