We are looking for a passionate QTS KS3 Science Teacher to join a reputable secondary school in Tonbridge, Kent. This is on a 6-month temporary contract, with the opportunity to progress to a permanent role for the right candidate.

About the Role
This is an exciting, rare opportunity for a KS3 Science Teacher to inspire and engage their students, at a well-regarded secondary school.
Working hours: 08:45 - 15:45, Monday to Friday, term time only. Fully on site.
Salary: £35,000-£39,000, depending on experience.
About You
Previous secondary Science teaching experience - essential
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
Strong knowledge of the KS3 Science curriculum
Confident in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
A strong passion for inspiring students and developing their interest in Science
Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the confidence to manage challenging behaviour effectively while maintain positive relationships with students
Committed to supporting student's academic progress and well-being
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, high quality KS3 Science lessons, teaching across relevant areas of Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Adapt teaching and learning to meet the individual needs and capabilities of students, and encouraging them to develop scientific thinking, curiosity and problem-solving skills
Assess, monitor and track student progress and abilities, and create improvement and support plans based on needs
Prepare and deliver safe and stimulating practical experiments and investigations
Build strong, positive relationships with students, and colleagues within the Science department

Follow the school's safeguarding, behaviour and health & safety policies
Support students in developing the knowledge and skills needed for successful progression into GCSE Science.
Promote and uphold the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students, following school policies and procedures.
