Head of Quality Assurance About the Role We are seeking a highly organised, meticulous, and tenacious

Quality Assurance Manager

with extensive experience in adult social care, specifically within large residential and nursing care homes. The role is key to ensuring all homes achieve and maintain a

good

rating in all CQC key questions, while supporting continuous improvement across the business. This role combines compliance oversight, proactive support to Home Managers, and strategic input into quality assurance systems to deliver consistent high standards across all services. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive compliance visits at least six-monthly across all services, producing detailed inspection reports, action plans and follow-up reviews

and carry out thematic or ad hoc audits where required

Oversee Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs), monitoring progress weekly or monthly as appropriate and chairing CIP review meetings with Home Managers and Operations teams

Maintain robust oversight of quality assurance systems, including audits, safeguarding notifications, training matrices, DoLS trackers and dependency tools

Provide ongoing oversight of care planning, EMAR and clinical governance systems, including monitoring of high-risk residents and identifying emerging trends

Review, respond to and support resolution of professional feedback, concerns and regulatory correspondence

Provide hands-on support to homes during CQC inspections, PIR submissions, notifications and regulatory improvement projects

Deliver training, coaching and practical guidance to Home Managers and operational teams, sharing best practice and supporting sustained improvement

Work closely with the Head of QA to identify risks, improve systems and drive quality outcomes across the group

Contribute to monthly QA oversight reports, group risk meetings and senior leadership reporting, highlighting key themes, risks and areas for improvement

Maintain clear, open communication with homes, operations teams and external stakeholders

About You Highly organised, detail-focused and committed to high-quality care

Strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills

Proactive, resilient and supportive, with an understanding of care home pressures

Able to work independently and collaboratively

Willing to travel nationally and suitable to work with vulnerable adults

Experience & Qualifications Clinical qualifications and proven clinical experience are highly desirable.

Experience working within CQC-regulated environments is desirable.

Confident IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with PCS care planning and EMAR systems advantageous.

Knowledge of the new CQC framework desirable

Quick learner with enthusiasm for new systems and processes

Working Pattern & Package Hybrid role combining home working with regular on-site visits

Competitive salary dependent on experience
