Quality Engineer, experienced and motivated, with an extensive knowledge of and background in the automotive industry, required to join a well-established leading manufacturer based in Kings Norton, Birmingham. As Quality Engineer, you would be responsible for conducting and defining Quality Engineering activities, ensuring a robust QMS is implemented and maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional, hard-working individual who is reliable, task-orientated, and thrives in a team-based environment.
Offered as a temporary to permanent contract, could be permanent for the right candidate, the role of Quality Engineer provides a competitive salary, a supportive, collaborative team environment and opportunities for continuous improvement and professional development.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
* Support, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System in line with IATF 16949 and AS9100 standards
* Lead and support PPAP completion and submissions
* Develop, review, and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, and related quality documentation
* Write, review, and maintain clear and effective work instructions
* Drive continuous improvement activities using Six Sigma methodologies
* Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
* Support internal and external audits and customer quality requirements
* Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to achieve quality objectives
* Promote a strong quality culture throughout the organisation
Quality Engineer Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment
* Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and AS9100 standards
* Hands-on experience with PPAP, Control Plans, and PFMEA
* Experience writing and maintaining work instructions
* Professional, reliable, and highly task-orientated
* Personable with strong communication skills
* Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Quality Engineer Desirable / Advantageous Requirements:
* Training and practical experience with Hexagon Arm (CMM)
* Working knowledge of PolyWorks software
* Six Sigma trained (Green Belt or higher preferred)
Location: 3 days working in at the Redditch site and 2 days working at the Kings Norton site
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 – 16:00 and Friday 7:00 – 13:00
Salary: Up to £42,000 p.a. dependent upon experience
