Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Home Based (East London / Eastern Counties) Salary: £55,000-£75,000 per annum + discretionary bonus, expenses, fuel, laptop and phone | Permanent, Remote/Home Based A specialist subcontractor within the roofing, cladding, and building envelope sector is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial delivery of projects across East London and the Eastern Counties. The business has a strong order book, a growing regional presence, and a commitment to developing its commercial teams. This role would suit a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with roofing subcontractor experience who is looking for greater autonomy, home-based working, and manageable site travel. Key Responsibilities: Manage the commercial function across multiple live projects Prepare and submit interim applications, valuations, and variations Produce accurate cost reporting and commercial updates Maintain commercial correspondence with clients and contractors Monitor project performance and financial outcomes Liaise directly with main contractors and developer clients Conduct regular site visits across the project portfolio Support monthly commercial review and management meetingsExperience Required: Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor or commercial management role Background working for a specialist subcontractor Strong knowledge of roofing, cladding, or building envelope systems Experience managing applications, variations, valuations, and cost reporting Ability to independently manage client relationships and commercial matters Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract Experience producing CVRs and commercial reports Based within East London, Essex, Cambridgeshire, or surrounding areasDesirable: CSCS Card Experience managing multiple concurrent projects Familiarity with MS365, Excel, and commercial management softwareAdditional Information: Manage a portfolio of up to four live projects Typical contract values up to approximately £4 million Projects currently located in Cambridgeshire, Basildon, and Dagenham Site visits typically required on a fortnightly basis Monthly commercial management meetings held in West London Minimal pre-construction involvement, with estimating support provided prior to order sign-off 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays Fuel and business expenses covered Laptop and mobile phone provided Reporting line into the Head of Commercial Opportunity to join a growing business expanding across multiple UK regionsKey Skills Required: Quantity Surveyor, Roofing, Cladding, Subcontractor, NEC, JCT, CVR, Commercial Management, Cost Reporting, Variations This employer is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
