They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team delivering a major phase of one of Europe's largest and most significant digital infrastructure programmesa landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth.Spanning more than a decade, this flagship development will redefine digital infrastructure in the UK.
Working alongside the Commercial Manager and wider project team, you will play a key role in the commercial management of the project, ensuring costs are effectively controlled while maximising value and maintaining strong contractual relationships throughout the construction lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the commercial aspects of designated work packages from procurement through to final account.Prepare and administer subcontract packages, including tender enquiries, evaluations and recommendations.Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow, ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.Prepare accurate valuations, applications for payment and commercial reports.Assess and value subcontractor applications, variations and final accounts.Identify, evaluate and manage commercial risks and opportunities.Administer contract changes, compensation events and variations in accordance with contractual requirements.Work closely with project delivery teams to monitor progress against programme and commercial objectives.Support forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting to senior management.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.Ensure compliance with company commercial procedures and contractual obligations.RequirementsPrevious experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.Experience working on data centres, mission-critical facilities, commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.Good knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC and JCT.Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline.Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and negotiation skills.Experience managing subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong client and subcontractor relationships.Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial management software. xwzovoh PackageHighly competitive salaryAccommodationAllowances packagePerformance-related bonusCompany car or car allowance / Private healthcare / Enhanced pension / Life assuranceOngoing training and professional developmentExcellent long-term career progression with a leading international contractorThis is an opportunity to join one of the UK's largest ever construction programmes and contribute to the successful commercial delivery of a landmark £10 billion hyperscale data centre campus .Working alongside an experienced commercial and project delivery team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the successful financial management of one of Europe's most prestigious mission-critical developments while building a long-term career with one of the industry's leading international contractors.
