We are working confidentially with an established contractor in the West Midlands who is looking to appoint an experienced Contract Quantity Surveyor to support a portfolio of DFG and adaptations contracts.
This is a specialist requirement. We are looking for somebody who already understands Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) and adaptations work and can demonstrate previous experience commercially managing this type of contract.
The workload will include a varied programme of adaptations and improvement works, including extensions, level-access showers (LAS), ramps, adapted kitchens and internal alterations.
The Role
Working from the company's Stourbridge office and across live contracts, you will take commercial responsibility for your allocated projects from initial costing and procurement through to valuations, variations and final accounts.
You'll work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are commercially controlled while maintaining the standards, timescales and sensitivity required when delivering adaptation works within occupied properties.
Responsibilities will include:
*
Commercial management of DFG and adaptations contracts
*
Costing and measurement of works
*
Subcontractor procurement and management
*
Applications, valuations and variations
*
Cost reporting and forecasting
*
Monitoring project expenditure and commercial performance
*
Managing change and additional works
*
Final accounts
*
Working closely with Contracts Managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors
What We're Looking For
The key requirement is previous experience within DFG, adaptations or a closely related housing environment.
You may currently be working as a Quantity Surveyor, Contract Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within a contractor delivering adaptations, planned works, social housing or local-authority-funded projects.
Knowledge of works including adapted bathrooms, level-access showers, kitchens, ramps, extensions and internal property alterations would be a significant advantage.
You'll need to be commercially strong, organised and capable of managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong workload across the region.
