Quantity Surveyor Groundworks & Civil Engineering Location: Dundee Job Type: Full time, Permanent Salary: £65k base + Car About the Role Our client are a well-established and growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to develop their career with a reputable contractor. Key Responsibilities Managing the commercial aspects of multiple groundwork and civil engineering projects from award through to final account. Preparing, submitting, and agreeing valuations and applications for payment. Producing cost forecasts, cash flow reports, and monthly cost value reconciliations. Procuring subcontractors and suppliers, including preparing enquiries and negotiating terms. Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, and final accounts. Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations and change orders. Monitoring project costs, identifying commercial risks, and implementing mitigation strategies. Supporting project teams with commercial advice and contract administration. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures. About You The successful candidate will have: Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks, civil engineering, or infrastructure sector. A strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial management, and cost control. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial management software. A full UK driving license. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (preferred but not essential with relevant experience). What They Offer Competitive salary based on experience.
