GVR Solutions are representing a well-established specialist contractor operating across the FRA and joinery fit-out sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
The successful candidate will have a strong commercial background within FRA fire door installation and bespoke joinery fit-out works, with the ability to manage projects from tender through to final account.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS who understands the specialist nature of fire door and joinery packages and is looking to take on a key role within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
* Manage the commercial aspects of multiple fire door and bespoke joinery fit-out projects.
* Prepare, review and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
* Manage variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
* Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier accounts.
* Assess project costs, risks and commercial opportunities.
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
* Prepare and submit accurate valuations and variation claims.
* Monitor project performance against budgets and agreed commercial targets.
* Assist with tendering, pricing and procurement activities.
* Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed.
* Maintain accurate project records and provide regular commercial reporting.
* Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and supply chain partners.
The Quantity Surveyor must have/be:
* Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction.
* Specific experience with FRA fire door installation and/or bespoke joinery and fit-out projects.
* A strong understanding of construction contracts, variations, valuations and final accounts.
* Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
* Good knowledge of construction methods, materials and associated costs.
* A proactive and commercially minded approach.
* Experience working with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
