Real Estate Investments Lawyer – 3+ PQE, London
Join Addleshaw Goddard’s market-leading Real Estate Investments (REI) team in London and take an active role in complex, high-value real estate investment and corporate transactions. We welcome applications from corporate transactional lawyers with strong M&A and joint venture experience who are looking to develop their practice in the real estate sector. You will work with leading institutional investors, private equity real estate funds, developers, sovereign wealth funds and other major market participants on sophisticated domestic and cross-border matters.
What You’ll Do:
- Advise on the structuring, establishment, operation, restructuring and exit of joint ventures and other indirect real estate investment structures, including corporates, partnerships and JPUTs.
- Work on complex corporate M&A transactions in the real estate sector, including cross-border transactions and portfolio deals.
- Act as a trusted adviser to a diverse range of sophisticated clients, providing clear, strategic and commercially focused advice while developing strong client relationships.
- Take day-to-day responsibility for complex matters, driving transactions forward, managing risk, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and overseeing key workstreams.
- Advise on complex asset and portfolio management matters, including reorganisations, refinancings and exits.
- Contribute to the growth and profile of the REI practice through pitches, thought leadership, client relationship initiatives and other business development activities.
- Supervise and develop junior lawyers and trainees, providing constructive feedback and supporting their technical and commercial development.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Strong technical expertise and market knowledge in corporate real estate transactions, ideally gained within a leading private practice environment, with experience across a range of corporate structures and relevant jurisdictions.
- Significant experience of M&A, joint ventures and related documentation, with particular interest in candidates who have advised on structured real estate JVs, including single-asset development and investment JVs, platform arrangements, club deals and quasi-fund investments.
- The ability to take ownership of complex matters, manage workstreams and negotiations, and deliver high-quality advice with appropriate partner involvement.
- Strong commercial acumen, client relationship skills and an understanding of the investment strategies, risk appetites and commercial drivers of real estate investors.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills, combined with a collaborative, proactive and resilient approach to delivering outstanding client service.
