Receptionist/Administrator
Job summary
The Receptionist / Administrator plays an important role in the smooth and effective running of the practice. The postholder will provide a professional, efficient and welcoming service to patients and support the clinical and administrative teams with a wide range of reception and administrative duties.
The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work calmly in a busy environment, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. The postholder will be expected to work flexibly as part of the wider practice team and contribute to providing a high standard of patient care.

About us
We are a large practice (16000 patients) with a multi-disciplinary team that includes 4 partners, salaried GPs, advanced nurse practitioners, paramedics, physiotherapist, pharmacists, dispensers and a large admin team.
It is always very busy but we are a close, very supportive team who do our best to provide the best service possible for our patients.
Job responsibilities
This is a full-time medical receptionist/administrator post which will be initially a fixed term contract of one year to cover maternity leave. The successful applicant will deal with patients on a face-to-face and by telephone. Administrative duties include entering data into the patient's record, sending invitations, processing repeat prescriptions and liaising with members of the team and outside agencies.
The successful applicant must have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work comfortably in a high pressure environment.
