Recruitment and Retention Clinical Educator
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Educator to join our small, dedicated education team focusing on recruitment and retention of the nursing workforce and supporting the development of our nursing workforce across unplanned care.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of staff groups including apprentices, Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs), Registered Nursing Associates, Newly Qualified Nurses, and Internationally Educated Nurses. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting new starters as they embed into their clinical areas and develop confidence and competence within their roles.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about teaching, learning, and staff development, and who is committed to helping others achieve their full potential. The post holder will act as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the Trust PRIDE values and promoting a supportive learning culture across clinical environments.
A key aspect of the role will also include providing pastoral and wellbeing support to learners and new staff members, recognising the challenges that can arise when transitioning into new roles and clinical environments. The successful candidate will be approachable, compassionate, and able to foster psychologically safe learning environments where staff feel valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will:
- Support the recruitment, retention, education, training, and development of the nursing workforce
- Facilitate learning opportunities within clinical practice
- Provide pastoral, wellbeing, and professional support to learners and new starters
- Support apprentices, HCSWs, Registered Nursing Associates, Newly Qualified Nurses, and Internationally Educated Nurses throughout their development journey
- Work collaboratively with ward and department teams to enhance the learner experience
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to service needs
- Contribute to service improvement and workforce development initiatives
- Promote high standards of patient care through education and professional role modelling
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience in supporting learners in practice, and a genuine passion for developing others. You will be organised, approachable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

- BSc/Nurse Practitioner Degree or appropriate qualification
- Mentorship preparation or equivalent
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and post registration studies in a clinical portfolio

- Master's Degree or working towards

- Registered Nurse/AHP with extensive post-registration experience
- Evidence of ability to provide support mechanism to other staff within the Emergency areas
