With an established background in supported accommodation for young people, the organisation is now expanding into residential childcare and is seeking a passionate Registered Manager to lead the service from the very beginning.


This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in launching a new home, shaping its culture, and building a high-quality, child-centred environment from the ground up.


The Opportunity

As Registered Manager, you will take full ownership of the registration and setup of the home, supported by an experienced Responsible Individual and senior leadership team.


Youll have the autonomy to build your own team, implement your vision, and create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.


About the Home



  • Location: Cambridgeshire


Property: 6-bedroom residential property


Proposed Registration: 2-bed childrens home


Client Group: Children with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)


Stage: Pre-registration (Ofsted application in progress)


Growth Plans: Clear plans to expand following successful registration



Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the Ofsted registration process and take full responsibility for the home


Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing staff team


Ensure full compliance with Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards


Create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for young people


Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and embed strong safeguarding practices


Develop and oversee care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour strategies


Drive the home towards achieving Good and Outstanding Ofsted outcomes


Build strong relationships with local authorities and partner agencies


Manage budgets, resources, and overall performance of the service



Requirements



  • Experience within childrens residential care (EBD experience preferred)


Previous experience as a Registered Manager, or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up


Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)


Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding frameworks


Confident, resilient leader with a child-centred approach


Full UK driving licence
