Registered Nurse Associate
Job summary
The Registered Nurse Associate role bridges the gap between the Rehab Care Assistants and Registered Nurses. The role is professionallly regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Holders of this qualification are required to register and re-validate as per NMC registration requirements in order to practice as a Registered Nurse Associate in England.
Main duties of the job
Examples of specific duties that the post holder will carry out may include developing , planning, implementing and evaluating care, medication administration and supporting Doctors rounds, providing personal care, clinical observations, dressings, manual handling and providing nutritional support to patients.
Good commuication skills are required to liaise with patients, families and other colleagues and documenting the care provided. Clinical skills include recording patient's physical observations and ECG recordings, assessing patients condition through observation and test results, assess comfort fof patients and instigate any energency procedures required.

Qualifications
Essential
- Active Nurse Associate registration with NMC
- Level 5 Foundation Degree or equivalent
Desirable
- Previous inpatient/rehabilitation care experience
- Additional relevant post-reg training
skills/knowledge
Essential
- Ability to deliver safe patient care, including medicine administration, recording/ reporting patient Obs and ECG`s.
- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Good IT and EPR system knowledge
Desirable
- Able to interpret NEWS2 and have good understanding of the deteriorating patient.
- Understanding of sub-acute rehab & palliative care
- Experience using SystmOne or similar EPR
