Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home Location: Milton Keynes Salary: £13.50 per hour Home: Brand-new 3-bed EBD children’s home We are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Residential Support Worker to join the team at a brand-new children’s home in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service from the very beginning, working alongside an excellent and highly supportive Registered Manager. The home will provide care for up to three children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The role As a Residential Support Worker, you will: * Build positive, trusting relationships with the children * Provide consistent emotional and practical support * Help create a safe, stable and nurturing home environment * Support children with routines, education, activities and appointments * Encourage independence and the development of life skills * Follow individual care plans and risk assessments * Maintain clear and accurate records * Work closely with colleagues, families and external professionals * Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations What we’re looking for We would love to hear from people who are: * Caring, patient and genuinely passionate about supporting children * Resilient and able to remain calm under pressure * Reliable, approachable and able to work effectively within a team * Comfortable working shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins * Experienced within children’s residential care, support work or a similar setting, although the right attitude is equally important * Willing to complete relevant training and qualifications In return, you will join a new home with a strong manager in place, excellent support and the opportunity to grow as the service develops.
