We are seeking an experienced Residential Support Worker to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in our specialist home in Lancing. It's essential that you possess the ability to endure these challenges and work to rebuild trust and rapport when needed. We need a team member who is committed to never giving up on our young people, continually offering support and encouragement. The home offers a nurturing, homely, and safe environment for up to 5 children (aged 10-18) with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Believe in the children and their potential. Key Responsibilities: Build strong, positive, and meaningful relationships with children. Develop and implement individualised strength-based plans. Advocate for children, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. Support children in their educational, training, and employment aspirations. Facilitate and participate in hobbies, interests, and recreational activities. Ensure childrens health and well-being by managing appointments and liaising with healthcare professionals. Promote emotional and mental well-being through positive interactions and therapeutic practices. Maintain a safe, secure, and homely environment. Uphold safeguarding and protection protocols. Keep accurate, timely, and detailed records. Act as a role model, demonstrating best practices in childcare and professional conduct. What Were Looking For: Compassion & Empathy A warm, understanding, and non-judgmental approach. Child Safeguarding Knowledge A strong commitment to keeping children safe. Excellent Communication & Organisation Skills The ability to engage effectively with both children and colleagues. Understanding of Developmental Trauma Awareness of its impact and how to support affected children. Behaviour Management Skills Confidence in handling challenging situations and de-escalating conflicts. Hours & Benefits: Full-time role made up of long days with compulsory sleeps. Rolling rota, 1 on, 2 off etc Includes weekend work and on-call duties.
