We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist children's residential service supporting young people aged 8–18 years. The home works closely with a specialist education setting, ensuring children receive consistent care, support and education in a safe, nurturing environment. Waking Night Support Worker Responsibilities * Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people. * Promote emotional wellbeing, personal growth and independence. * Act as a positive role model and provide consistent support. * Attend team meetings and contribute to care planning. * Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of young people throughout the night. * Carry out regular welfare checks around the home. * Provide clear and detailed handovers to the day team. * Maintain accurate records of observations and incidents. * Support bedtime routines, creating a calm and reassuring environment. * Follow individual care and health plans, including supporting young people with specific needs such as enuresis where required. * Complete household cleaning duties while young people are asleep to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Shift Patterns * Waking Nights: 9:30pm – 9:30am * Flexibility to work long days, weekends and sleep-ins (where required). Requirements To be considered for this role, you must: * Be 21 years of age or older. * Have a minimum of 6 months' experience working within a children's residential setting. * Hold a full UK driving licence with no penalty points (essential due to the rural location). * Have a current DBS registered on the Update Service. * Be willing to complete the Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People's Workforce if not already qualified. * Be flexible to work a rota including long days, weekends and sleep-in shifts where required. * Be resilient, reliable and committed to providing outstanding care.
