We are seeking an experienced HR Job Architecture & Organisation Design Consultant to lead a pivotal project within our Guidance Services directorate. This role offers the chance to conduct a comprehensive review of role structures and career frameworks, aiming to establish a clear, consistent, and scalable job architecture.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead the review of current job architecture, including job families, role profiles, titles, levels, and grading principles across various functions.
- Assess existing role structures to identify opportunities for improvement in consistency, alignment, career progression, and organisational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with leaders from Guidance Services, People & Culture, and other stakeholders to gather essential role, workforce, capability, and service demand information.
- Develop and recommend strategies for job levelling, grade alignment, progression frameworks, and governance arrangements that enhance operational delivery and service quality.
- Evaluate the workforce impacts, implementation considerations, and organisational risks associated with proposed changes.
- Produce comprehensive project documentation such as current-state assessments, options appraisals, recommendations, implementation plans, and governance papers.
- Facilitate engagement with managers and experts, effectively translating complex organisational design concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Ensure all recommendations adhere to organisational standards, inclusion commitments, consumer outcomes, and long-term workforce plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Significant experience in job architecture, organisation design, job evaluation, or HR consultancy, preferably within service delivery or public service environments.
- Profound understanding of job levelling methodologies, grading frameworks, and organisational design principles.
- Ability to analyse complex workforce, role, capability, and service delivery data to derive practical recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills, capable of engaging with senior leaders and operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practices in job evaluation, organisational design, and workforce planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis, with experience in HR systems and workforce analytics tools.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience is desirable, with additional benefit for experience in a contact centre or customer service environment.
