Early Years Room Manager
Salary: Up to £36,527.40per annum plus performance-related bonus
Lead, Inspire and Make a Difference in Early Years Education
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Early Years Room Manager to join a thriving and ambitious nursery setting in Woodford Green.
As the Early Years Room Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of your designated room, ensuring children receive outstanding care, welfare and educational experiences.
You will lead and motivate a team of practitioners, oversee planning and assessment processes, monitor children's progress, and maintain exceptional standards in line with the EYFS Framework, Ofsted requirements and nursery policies.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support colleagues' development and help drive excellence across the setting.
Room Leadership & Management
Ensure consistently high standards of childcare, education and welfare
Supervise, support and motivate practitioners within the room
Work closely with senior leaders to achieve nursery objectives
Support the implementation of new initiatives, procedures and quality improvements
Teaching, Learning & Child Development
Deliver high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Support planning that reflects children's interests, abilities and developmental needs
Support school readiness and children's social, emotional and cognitive development
Ensure every child receives engaging and challenging learning opportunities
Promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all children
Act as an interim Key Person where required
Develop strong and trusting relationships with children and families
Monitor and support the progress and wellbeing of key children
Contribute to children's learning journeys and developmental planning
Encourage parent engagement and participation in nursery life
Maintain regular communication regarding children's progress and wellbeing
Establish trusting partnerships that support children's development both at nursery and at home
Oversee and support the completion of high-quality observations
Encourage team members to contribute regularly to children's learning records
Monitor the quality and consistency of documentation across the room
Maintain accurate records in line with nursery policies and regulatory requirements
Safeguarding, Health & Safety
Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children
Maintain excellent knowledge of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities
Follow all local safeguarding and child protection guidelines
Support compliance with Ofsted, EYFS and nursery standards
Previous experience working within an Early Years setting
Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Experience leading or supervising staff within a nursery environment
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years Education or equivalent
Previous experience as a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or Room Manager
Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and inspection frameworks
Performance-related bonus of up to £2,000 per year
